Lakeside provides park internet access, but no guaranteed speed, uptime, or dedicated connection is advertised. Ask what connection is available at the proposed site and explain the tasks you need to do. If uninterrupted service is essential, decide how you will verify the setup before relying on it.
What should you test about internet?
Test the connection where you will actually work, using your normal devices and tools. A quick download test alone does not tell you how a video meeting or remote desktop session will behave. Try the applications you need at the times you expect to use them. If you carry a cellular backup, verify service at your assigned site; a broad coverage map or someone else’s experience is not a site-specific guarantee. Ask your employer about acceptable networks and remote-access requirements.
Build a routine around RV living.
Full hookups reduce the everyday setup work of a longer stay. Lakeside’s Doss Road sites have 30/50 amp service, water, and sewer, with laundry available at the park. Confirm that the site fits your electrical requirements and bring equipment suited to your RV. Plan laundry and errands around the workday, and keep a separate place for your work materials if your layout allows it. Quiet hours are 9 PM–7 AM; park quiet hours do not promise a silent meeting environment throughout the day.
Budget for work as well as the site.
The published Doss Road monthly starting rate is $750 plus electricity. Ask about taxes, deposits, billing, and other applicable charges before estimating a total. Include your own internet backup and any off-site workspace you expect to use. If your role mixes remote days with an Austin office commute, check that office address at your actual travel times. The park is in the Lake Travis area, so a general claim that you are staying near Austin is not enough to evaluate the commute.
What should you tell the office?
Share your dates, RV size, vehicle count, pets, and any setup needs that affect site selection. Ask about arrival arrangements before scheduling a meeting immediately after your drive.
